David Byrne – Make Believe Mambo

Probably my favorite 12” Remix by Mark Kamins, key figure of the New York party culture during the late 70’s and the 80’s and resident DJ at Danceteria. On the single there’s also a dub remix which is less pop and more club oriented, I still prefer the one with the vocals. On keyboards: Eric Kupper.

Ian McCulloch – Faith & Healing

Ian McCulloch, in 1988 left Echo & The Bunnymen and started working on his first solo album. As he reports, he was a fan of New Order and you can clearly hear it in this single from the Lp: the guitar, the synths, probably everything sounds as a New Order track. Anyway the result is astounding. Remix duties by Mark Saunders.
