Change was initially formed in Bologna in 1979 as a studio-band with a revolving cast of musicians led by Italians Paolo Gianolio (guitar) and Davide Romani (bass). They were a studio creation of producers Jacques Fred Petrus and Mauro Malavasi, who first got together to form their label Goody Music in 1978. With material recorded both in Italy and in America (at the legendary Power Station Studio’s) they released their first album “The Glow Of Love” in 1980 which gained a lot of success thanks to songs like “A Lover’s Holiday” and the same album title track. “Paradise” is a song from the following album “Miracles”: a beautiful classy disco track with a rather impressive background story too. Romani thought that the album didn’t have a strong single and in only one night he wrote “Paradise”. I strongly suggest you to visit this link to get a full cover story on Change, their story and their controversial producer from Guadalupe Jacques Fred Petrus.
