In 1980 Malcom McLaren persuaded the Ants of “Adam & The Ants” to leave Adam and form their own band: Bow Wow Wow. Guitarist Matthew Ashman, drummer David Barbarossa and bassist Leigh Gorman took 6 months of auditions to find the 14 years old singer Annabella Lwin. “I Want Candy” is probably their biggest hit, originally recorded in 1965 by the Strangeloves, this song perfectly sums up the great sound of Bow Wow Wow: beautiful afro percussions, a stylish bass and the energy of Annabella vocals are the main elements of this cover. The song is remixed by NY’ DJs Mark Kamins and Ivan Ivan.

It’s all about the guitar of Paul Reynolds and the haircut of Mike Score. The first element was the magic, the second was the ruin for the British band A Flock Of Seagulls. I know the 80’s was a bad period for fashion but do you really remember his hair cut? “Space Age Love Song” is a personal guilty pleasure, and in case you didn’t get it, it’s all about the sound of the guitar of Paul Reynolds.

Bunny Wailer is one of the true ‘souls’ of the Jamaican reggae group The Wailers. In 1982 he recorded this amazing track which combines Disco, Reggae, Funk and Rap elements. Can you believe it?
